Crossover from diffusive to superfluid transport in frustrated magnets

چکیده

We investigate the spin transport across magnetic phase diagram of a frustrated antiferromagnetic insulator and uncover drastic modification regime from diffusion to superfluidity. Adopting triangular lattice accounting for both nearest-neighbor next-nearest-neighbor exchange interactions with easy-plane anisotropy, we perform atomistic simulations on two-terminal configuration full diagram. found that as long ground state moments remain in-plane, irrespective whether is ferromagnetic, collinear, or noncollinear antiferromagnetic, system exhibits superfluid behavior device output independent value interactions. When frustration large enough compete anisotropy cant out plane, progressively evolves towards diffusive regime. The robustness superfluidity close boundaries investigated possibility proximate ferromagnetic transition.

Crossover from Ballistic to Diffusive Thermal Transport in Carbon Nanotubes

We present a theoretical scheme that seamlessly handles the crossover from fully ballistic to diffusive thermal transport regimes and apply it to carbon nanotubes. At room temperature, the micrometer-length nanotubes belong to the intermediate regime in which ballistic and diffusive phonons coexist, and the thermal conductance exhibits anomalous nonlinear tube-length dependence due to this coex...

Crossover from Diffusive to Ballistic Transport in Periodic Quantum Maps

We derive an expression for the mean square displacement of a particle whose motion is governed by a uniform, periodic, quantum multi-baker map. The expression is a function of both time, t, and Planck’s constant, ~, and allows a study of both the long time, t → ∞, and semi-classical, ~ → 0, limits taken in either order. We evaluate the expression using random matrix theory as well as numerical...

Frustrated Quantum Magnets

A description of different phases of two dimensional magnetic insulators is given. The first chapters are devoted to the understanding of the symmetry breaking mechanism in the semi-classical Néel phases. Order by disorder selection is illustrated. All these phases break SU(2) symmetry and are gapless phases with ∆Sz = 1 magnon excitations. Different gapful quantum phases exist in two dimension...

Shot noise in generic quantum dots: crossover from ballistic to diffusive transport

We study shot noise for generic quantum dots coupled to two leads and allow for an arbitrary strength of diffractive impurity scattering inside the dots. The ballistic quantum dots possess a mixed classical phase space, where regular and chaotic regions coexist. In absence of disorder, the noise is systematically suppressed below the universal value of fully chaotic systems, by an amount which ...

Resistivity Minimum in Highly Frustrated Itinerant Magnets.

We study the transport properties of frustrated itinerant magnets comprising localized classical moments, which interact via exchange with the conduction electrons. Strong frustration stabilizes a liquidlike spin state, which extends down to temperatures well below the effective Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida interaction scale. The crossover into this state is characterized by spin structure fac...
